I am so fortunate to live just a few miles from Kings Gap. My Grandson & I went for a short visit on one of the most beautiful autumn days we've had in years. The view is always stunning and the foliage this year was incredible. If you aren't local, it is worth the drive just to see the Cumberland... More

Paths are nice, well maintained. Just have to spray for ticks before you head out. Variety of trails to chose from.

I took kids to Kings Gap Environmental Ed. Center for a second grade school field trip last fall. What a terrific place! We took three classes on each of two visits, and the programs were phenomenal. All the kids were engaged and the staff was very organized, efficient, and knowledgeable. The pathways through the woods are well maintained and easy... More

Enlighting and relaxing day. We visited the main buildings with exceptional views of the Valley. The atmosphere is relaxing and the vegitation very beautiful. Good for a stop to take in the view and for hikes.

attended the annual Christmas open house. was able to tour the mansion, both main and upper floors. harp music was the entertainment the day we were there, beautiful music and wonderfully decorated for the holiday. refreshments were available and plenty of volunteer staff available to provide history and answer questions. sits on top of a mountain, able to overlook the... The trails were OK, nothing stunning. The view from the mansion was very scenic, but the mansion itself was nothing special. Some of the trails were not marked well. The road going up the mountain could use some guardrails.

I enjoy the Wednesday night hikes which occur from spring through early fall. There are numerous trails through the woods at King's Gap, and the hikes usually cover 3 to 4 miles and last two hours. I have also taken scout troops to the environmental education center for programs on birds. We rented the overnight camping location and hiked to... More

Check out the lovely native gardens at the King's Gap Mansion - the view of the Cumberland Valley is gorgeous, and you are likely to have it all to yourself. The Environmental Education Center has exhibits and classes that are great for all ages.

We take the family regularly to King's Gap for hiking and picnics. There are enough challenging trails for trips with the older children and some easy trails for the whole family including our little ones. Picnics up at the top near the mansion are nice, but our favorite picnic spot is the overlook as you drive up (almost at the... More
