High elevations offer a spectacular view. Campsites are ok size- but 154 can be a busy road so beware on lower Loop. Nice bath/shower. Well-patrolled. Water is across the street from family camping. To kayak, run up the hill to Hunter Lake.

Spent a day and a half in the area, Ranger at Welcome Center very helpful in finding trail for us for the day. Welcome Center itself was a very simple but yet informative displays on the history of park if you didn't already know.

It's 9km round walk in unstable roads, I suggest you take water, juice and snacks. It will take 4-5 H with small brakes.6 persons fall / year carefulness need to be taken

The park has a lot to offer. Swimming, a creek, picnicking, hiking, overlooks, giant rocks to explore, and nearby waterfalls. We started with a picnic lunch along to scenic and relaxing creek. The kids then played in the creek and explored. After awhile we went...More

I love this place - the Loyalsock Creek, Loyalsock Trail, the vistas, the cabins, the friendly people, the quiet serenity that just surrounds you. Can't wait to get back there and I will.

You can book your campsite at reserveamerica. If a site is "reserved", it is already reserved so don't waste your time. Try calling the park in case someone cancels at last minute.

Linda A is right. You park at the beginning of the path to those sites. I feel like they used to have the distance detailed in the site description. In two examples I remember, the distance is just maybe 25 steps uphill... More
