We always go here for the rummage sale, the lunch is delicious! Those nuns really know how to cook good food! Stuffed cabbage, all kinds of ethnic homemade foods, yum!

The Monastic Guest House on the grounds of St. Emma's Monastery was the perfect place for a 3-day reunion of eight couples from six states in early April 2016. We enjoyed a lovely dinner made by the sisters on our first night and prepared our other meals in the well-appointed guest house kitchen. The sleeping rooms (one downstairs and the... More

Mother Mary Anne told us on Friday evening that a priest who attended a retreat here said that the place was named wrong; it should be called a "treat" house instead of a "retreat" house because here, God "treats" us. I would have to agree whole-heartedly. Just came back today from a one evening retreat with my Sunday School class... More

My sister and I were welcomed with open arms and hearts! The atmosphere was lovely, the rooms spotless, breakfast plentiful and Benedictine nuns so very kind. We were the only guests the weekend we stayed and were given run of the Robertshaw Country House, a restored home with beautiful grounds, library, sitting rooms and a den. Just perfect-thank you!

This is a very nice place for peace and prayer. They have flea market, retreats, dinner, and other social events. I would recommend this to anyone in need of reconnecting with the faith. All of the sisters are sweet and kind.

Everything is in order, and there is plenty of history available. The people are very kind and knowledgable, not to mention God fearing. You can only increase your aptitude by visiting this special location in Westmoreland County. A well of knowledge in so many different ways.

The monastery offers a peaceful, inspirational setting. The Robertshaw Bed and Breakfast is simple elegance at its best. All the amenities you could wish for while continuing the peaceful setting of the monastery.
