The nature setting is beautiful with a large lotus pond. Lots of locals use it as a free public park. Not much old things inside. Appreciate local council's efforts of having music performance. Burning incense and turn it to be a worship place may make Confucius laugh in his grave.

The temple is built on a large area around a lake. It's a magnificent architecture. And at the same time the nature is maintained unperturbed. The lone musician at the backyard filled the temple ground with serenity.

Confucius as most know was philosopher but his teachings also evoked a spiritual following and religious type beliefs. His writings and philosophies have not only influenced China but also other countries most significantly Vietnam. There is also a religion in Vietnam called Cao Dai, that religion was created in the 1800s and has elements of Buddhism, Confucianism and Catholicism. This is the first and only Confucianism temple I have been to. Impressive grounds and a relaxing meditating place to be in.

That was my first thought when I was told that we were going to visit this Confucius temple, but at the end I was glad I did it. Different from any other temples, more spacious and with an aura of tranquillity, the temple is set in a vast garden with lots of trees and a little lake full of fishes, terrapins and lotus plants. Spend a couples of hours in the peace and tranquillity to recharge your batteries.

You will understand a part of why Chinese culture could last so long, if you visit this garden school.
Almost every little part of design reflects the fact that the spirits encouraging people to study hard, study as you live, study from each other, so that can get prosperity
There is still a high school nearby this temple that the students can use garden as a place to read and think.

If you are in Jianshui, you should go there. It is very relaxing and peaceful and beautiful. There are temples to visit, a small lake in the middle with a temple and just walking around is very nice.
