Small city and lovely people. Suit to stop over one or two day on the way down to Luangprabang ( by the local bus ) Daily bus departure from Xishuangbanna to Laos. River view look amazing. Lot of bar and restaurant near by,so do not miss to walk by the river.

Having visited this remote part of southern China, I was impressed by its Thai influence everywhere, from writing to the shape of the building. Enjoyed the discovery and the climate. Open houses, luscious vegetation, parks and Night markets

This is a part of China where English or French are simply not spoken. "Xishang" as the locals call the town is actually Jinghong. The region of Yunnan province in which the city is located, is Xishangbanna. It is one of those older towns that is just exploding with Chinese development. It's a bit like Puerto Vallarta, a bit like... More

Nice Area which is very different from the usual China you may experience when traveling around. A great time to experience dai culture in China.

We are a couple from Holland. We have a terrific trekking in Xishuangbana in Yunnan province of China. The 3 days well-arranged trekking with guide Phoebe from the Xishuangbanna Rainforest Trekking Company are perfect with old wooden stilted houses with minorities, jungle, old monastery, waterfall, tea plantations etc. The Xishuangbanna Rainforest Trekking Company is highly recommended!!! In and and around Jinghong, yunnan province China are many very good attractions. If you want to learn about an ethic chinese group the Dia cultural center is worth the visit. Southern Yunnan does not get many foreigners, I did not see one foreigner, so be sure to get a tour guide. In the evening there is a buffet dinner... More

I love Xishuangbanna as the weather is very pleasant and the local people are very nice, you can't feel it's a tourism city as most are local people, not like Dali&Lijiang where are full of tourist. In Xishuangbanna you can enjoy the rainforest and experience the minority life.
