Come enjoy the beach where Survivor Nicaragua was filmed in 2010. We have 3km of virgin white sand beaches. Great surfing, swimming, tide pooling, and we have horses ready to run you up and down the sand. Shuttles from town (SJDS) are available, and we have a beach bar/restaurant and hotel if you want to spend some quality time relaxing on the beach...

We paid 10 dollars to get a shuttle from our hostel and back (incl. 3 dollar fee because it's a private beach). The ride was an half an hour drive. And it was so worth it, it's a beautiful beach with a restaurant but it was on the more expensieve side. Great for a day of chilling or surfing.

We were told by our hotel that Playa Hermosa was a good swimming beach to visit in the area. We took the shuttle from the hotel ($10.00/pp) and paid a park entrance fee of $3.00/pp. This gets you into the main beach which has all the facilities you would need. There were a lot of palapas, chairs & hammocks available.... More

We had been told that this was a nice place to spend the day at the beach. The beach is fantastic, not crowded, and clean. There are numerous huts with tables and hammocks. These are first come, so get there early to get a good one. They have waiters who come around and take food and drink orders. The food... More

Absolutely beautiful. So clean, not crowded and very comfortable. Food and drink were reasonable. They take cc. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There was an outdoor shower. A big variety of seating, shade and hammocks. Free wifi. The beach is teaming with wildlife and great sea shell collecting. We spent two full days there with small children and... More

Playa Hermosa was a treat! One our favorite places on the coast. Although it costs a bit more than staying anywhere in San Juan Del Sur, we felt the it was well worth it. We had the beach and waves to ourselves until noon each day. Thats when the day crowds rolled in. However, they left by 5 each day... More

So I never stayed at the Surf Camp, but will in the future. I did come here several times to surf the beach and then also eat at the local bar / restaurant. So I will review that. 1. The Beach: This is by far the largest beach break that is readily accessible. Sure Playa Maderas has a much better... More

This beach is a gem, just a short drive south of Sa Juan del a Sur. It's huge and there is no one there. There is a hostel, restaurant/bar and a surf shop and that's about it. Very sandy beach with very few rocks or shells and when the tides out it must be 400 ft wide, you can walk... More

The surf was 4-6 feet and the sand was soft and clean. Very calming and soooo beautiful! Could have stayed all day but well worth the trip. Road leading to beach is rough and needed our driver to show us the way! However, well worth the trip.

Amazing beach and location, but nothing was included and was also expensive (without including the tax & tip) the only thing they treated you was coffee in the morning. The service was also slow and lazy, and last order for dinner was 18.30 and the bar closed 20.00 witch really sucked. If they would stop being so stingy this place... More

This is a tourist trap. On the plus side, the beach is beautiful and deserted but, and it is a big but, you can not bring a cooler so you have to eat at the restaurant. It is not good and sooo pricey ;( really bad. The food, no matter what you order, is soo salty, impossible to eat the... More
