The region’s top championship course designed by Dave Thomas was recently rated ‘5 Stars- Brilliant’ by Today’s Golfer Undercover Review Team. Measuring 7,317 yards from the championship tees and always superbly presented the course provides a great day out for both scratch and occasional golfers. The former estate farmhouse, dating from the 18th century, has been lovingly converted into a superb Clubhouse with exceptional facilities and an informal, relaxed atmosphere.

Bowood is a good and challenging golf course. It could do with slightly better signage along the way as there is potential for confusion. We had a good combined hotel and golf package though yourgolftravel.com.More

Excellent condition greens very quick and true . The staff are very friendly and the food in the spike bar is very good and reasonable priced an excellent day out with seven other golfers we will go back.

I have uploaded a photo of the afternoon tea shown on the website and then a photo of what you actually get, the two are very different. I was so disappointed - there were only 2 pots of jam and 1 of cream for 5...More

The golf course was in great condition and very enjoyable. We had fantastic service throughout our stay and the accommodation was very good. The only downside was our food in The Brasserie. Presentation was good but quality was poor.

Golf course is difficult, but the food - £10 for a crappy Bowood club sandwich which was barely edible and cheapest bottle of red wine £20 which is a ripoff, play golf, slowly, over five hours and then eat elsewhere is my suggestion.

Very nice food, my tuna sandwich with fries was a lovely lunch. Friends had pasta, or sandwiches like me, all were impressed. The service was quite good, but not very friendly. But the surroundings were quite tired and dated, and it s a fairly large...More

We booked the winter special of £120 for a fourball which included a meal and a pint. Excellent value if you want to try a good quality testing course. It's not for the faint hearted with some good testing holes and long par 5s. Wintertime...More
