First time here - didn't realise it existed. Fab out door theatre. Brilliant last minute gig with JC speaking via a phone!! Interesting entertainment programme. Luckily took the organisers advice and brought a cushion and blanket as it was chilly - the midges weren't friendly! Staff brilliant and very helpful. Will be back.

I have lived in the area since I was born, and I have visited loads and been part of stage kids at sterts when I was younger. Sterts is amazing from its uniqueness to their staff and volunteers. The only disappointing thing is the seats! They are rock hard and you have a numb bum every time, even if you... More

Thanks Rebecca, we loved Solid Gold Seventies as well. It's good to hear that you think our volunteers are amazing, we don't really have many staff, the front of house teams are all volunteers, isn't that brilliant? Totally agree about the seats but we do try and make the shows so exciting you don't notice your numb bum until it's... More

This outdoor canopied 400 seat theatre is pure magic! Variety of entertainment too diverse to describe so look up Sterts Theatre Programme. Never seen a bad show here and food is available before some performances if you book in advance. Always a Licenced bar and sometimes outside food available for certain performances. All the folks involved are delightful. The quality... More

Thanks for your review, we quite agree, Solid Gold Seventies were great weren't they? Good advice about the cushions, those benches seem to get harder as the evening goes on although it is a good excuse to get up and dance! More

Somewhat out in the depths of Cornwall, ( just outside Liskeard ), lies a Yurt, in which varied and diverse entertainments are staged. We went last night to watch Russell Kane, and had the added bonus of a two course home cooked meal before the show. Seats are reserved for you inside the Yurt, so you can enjoy the food,... More

Thank you for your review. We think that you are the first people to describe our canopied amphitheatre as a "Yurt". We rather like the sound of that, "come to the Sterts Yurt" has a certain ring to it! We're glad that the whole evening was good as we pride ourselves on the quality of all aspects of Sterts. Russell... More

Went to watch "Hound of the Baskervilles" this week at Starts and didn't know what to expect. Was impressed with the set up, a nice picnic area, a bar, a hot food & drink stand all to get you in a relaxed mood for the show. The theatre is a heavy duty big top type of construction which despite it... More

I had never been before even though I have lived in Cornwall for the past 40 years. I was asked if I would like to go and watch The Wizard of Oz with my daughter and granddaughter. After arriving in the small car park in the rain we walked along the path passing a tiny ticket office and an even... More

Thank you for your description and review of Sterts. It is always nice to get recognition for the volunteers. We have staged 92 shows this summer and for each one Front of House has been run by volunteers. We look forward to seeing you again very soon. More

Thoroughly enjoyed the show and the pre-show meal was delicious and well-priced, such a good idea more places should think of including it. Just don't forget a cushion and blanket - it was warm weather but got colder despite the well-deserved applause!

Yet again another fabulous evening of entertainment at Sterts. If you are thinking of going just make a booking but don't forget to also book a meal deal ( brilliant homemade food in a relaxed atmosphere and your seats are reserved!) If Summer arrives again you can picnic outside or take food into theatre. Regular visitors come equipped with cushions... More

Thank you for your super review and my apologies for responding so slowly. That's good advice about booking ahead as some shows sell out in the café and the theatre. We went to see Jesus Christ Superstar at Sterts recently. What an amazing experience the music, choreography and production were every bit as good as going to the Theatre Royal.. In fact all the productions we have seen over the years have been excellent. Can thoroughly recommend a visit but take cushions as the seats are quite hard!
