A reasonably well advertised attraction but not well looked after, very little in the way of signs for the amount of paths that shoot of in different directions, we entered the woods right opposite the car park and followed our noses due, to lack of info, mistake 1, mistake 2, walking boots not really good enough I would recommend wellies,... 25 years ago this was a little- frequented spot with bluebells to the water's edge. Paths existed but human footfall was restricted and at a level which caused little damage. That was then, and the area has undoubtedly changed with the surge in outdoor activities and folk like Julia Bradbury exhorting us to 'get out there and start walking'! The... More

Visited the falls on a drizzly day with our little dog. Expected muddy which you need to be prepared for. Need to be of reasonable fitness as it's mainly rocky terrain. Well worth the walk as the falls are stunning. There are many different routes to take some routes are easier than others. Will be even more spectacular in dry... More

The woodland is beautiful, the river running over a series of rapids is the focus. The sound of the water is wonderful. It is also a nature reserve containing an extensive number of moss and liverwort species. So it has a lovely soft, green look. The main footpath is fairly level, if rather uneven (due to tree roots). It is... More

Great place to walk. Easy parking and access to the path which winds down through the valley.Waterfalls and wooded area with plenty of places to sit down and relax or picnic.

I have visited this place since I was small when my mum would take me and now I introduce it to new people. Because the trees are telling there own story and if you follow the river to a certain point and look back up stream it's beautiful. Will always come back and it's great for families, dogs and anyone... More

This is a stunning place, only spoilt by dog owners letting their dogs use it as a toilet and not bothering to pick up behind them. It would be good if they would keep their dogs on a lead.

A very beautiful and calming walk through the woods and by the river teaming with wildlife. Some paths may be a little boggy if it has been wet.

As a change from heading seawards we took the inland route to Sibylback lake and Goliath Falls which we had not visited before. Golitha is wonderful , a brilliant little walk as contributors have mentioned, peaceful, serene even, and very atmospheric with the wonderful old woodland and babbling river. Far from grandiose but an enchanting location and with the added... More

A great twisty walk along a small but crystal clear river. Lots of rapids along the way make for great photography opportunities, as does the surrounding ancient woodland. The path is initially easy, but exposed tree roots become more prolific the further in you go. A bit of scrambling required here and there, making it great fun but also muddy.... More
