Meant to take a visit to Gwennap Pit last year but sadly ran out of time so I made a point of going to see it this year. The sign-posts to it off the A30 only seems to be on the westbound carriageway and not...More

A quiet, unassuming country lane. A small white, simple stone church with an attached village hall almost small enough to hold in your hand. A friendly welcome by the site's caretaker for the day and an offer of tea or coffee at the end of...More

This visit vastly outweighed expectations. When there is a discretionary entrance fee (we paid!) can an attraction be that good? Yes - it can! Everything written regarding awesome the awesome acoustics of this man made auditorium are true. We visited on a Sunday morning in...More

Unique place to visit, was very quiet. Visitors centre was closed when we went so didn't get to learn much about the history. Would recommend if you are going nearby and don't mind a stop for half hour to check it out.

It's free, and there is a box for donations. The volunteers who man the visitor centre might appreciate it is you bought a cup of tea there - it gets lonely for them in the off-season!
