The Kiama Blowhole was created when the great volcanic shift created the ridge of escarpment west of the Jamberoo Valley. It is a majestic rock formation at the top of a hill just south of Kiama Harbour. There is a significant amount of parking in its vicinity or, more pleasantly, the area can be accessed by a walk up a... More

We travelled by car to Kiama. It's a 1.5 hour drive. Kiama is beautiful. It has great views of the sea. The blowhole is just by the Kiama lighthouse. You have to wait for it for several minutes. The sound of the rushing of waves is so powerful. When you finally see the water go up, you will just be... More

Easy access, right in middle of town, fantastic on a big sea. The little blow hole is not far away and als well worth a look - again on a rough sea day.

In years gone by with weather like we are currently experiencing you would not miss a trip to the blowhole. But now, the water spray no longer shoots into the air like it used to. However if you have never been before its well worth a look the event sea are running.

The iconic blowhole has been part of Kiama for ever. Some days when the weather and seas permit it is a very scenic experience. One you need to have your camera ready so you can capture the perfect shot. You might also get a little wet if the blowhole is really in full swing. A word of warning stay in... More

Kiama is most famous for this excellent natural tourist attraction. This is the main blowhole (see photos) which can be super impressive if there is a good strong onshore wind to really push the surf in through the rock "hole" to force the water explosion. Also towards the south end of Kiama is the "Little Blowhole" which is also well... More

Just an 1hr and 40 minutes drive from Sydney, Kiama is absolutely amazing and the rock pool next to the blowhole is worth a dip into as well. Take your camera and capture the exact moment.

I was staying in Kiama so I thought I should see it. I've seen it. Wouldn't bother going there again to see it BUT the lighthouse and the views are great.
