We're on Lord Howe island in mid June so it was too cold to have a swim. But it was perfect for bushwalking and riding the bike around the island. There are many walking trails, most of them are easy to not-to-hard for me. We...More

The walks are as spectacular as you can get. Just be aware that they are not easy and can be very slippery when wet. I do not recommend hard sole, synthetic rubber, walking shoes, as these just slip and slide dangerously over the constant rocks...More

Lord Howe is an oasis! There is so much to do here. Everything is a bike ride away and the many hikes make this place even better. Did not do mount Gower on this visit but did do goat house, transit hill and Malabar. All...More

Each walk involves a little effort but is rewarded with a lovely view. I found Mutton Bird Point Lookout the most interesting and Goat House Cave the most challenging, but if you can climb up there then you are fit enough for Mt.Gower!

Boots would be best but unless climbing Gower or the Goat House. Sneakers would be fine.
