With many zoos or botanical gardens now having fairly large butterfly exhibits, the Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary may not impress that much. That said, it is still and interesting activity and worth the admission price if in the Jim Thorpe area What I liked: Very...More

Yes, we are small but we load as much fun as possible into our space. We did not build the building and are private, not a zoo or botanical garden and not connected to a foundation or government agency so never had the funding to...More

Education at your Best! Sit and relax while watching a short film then walk thru and let all the beautiful butterflies come to you. Seeing them close up and landing on you is so much fun! Great little gift shop to visit too.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your experience at the Sanctuary. We do think the way to connect with all the wonders is by being up-close and love to share all the interesting things we know. Please visit again.

Nice place for children and adults. Well done, good price. The butterfly lady explains about all the butterflies, frogs, how to care for the environment on a level all will understand. Would take friends and family here.

We stopped off here with our kids during a recent trip to the Poconos, and it ended up being a great visit. The sanctuary is not huge, like some others we have seen at arboretums and zoos. But it is just the right size if...More

So glad you enjoyed your visit and we would love to see you again. The species of flyers changes on an almost weekly basis, but honestly, we are partial to Monarchs, so large, beautiful and friendly.

This "butterfly sanctuary" is one tiny, dusty room with distressed, injured, and dead butterflies and moths. Another tiny room with a few frogs in fish tanks. Fake plastic, dusty flowers everywhere. Looks like it is meant for kids or educational purposes, but not much to...More

Great. Please visit again, the beautiful Florida butterflies are just starting to pop from their chrysalids and we will be flying really cool butterflies for the rest of the summer.

I went in expecting to see a variety of butterflies but they were just monarks. Some of the children I brought did not like them flying around so i wouldnt bring real young children. The kit they sold to give buttterflies produced a moth
