My husband and I stopped in as we were passing by on a walk around town. We enjoyed the displays and learned a few things about Jim Thorpe. Some of the displays may be a bit outdated however overall it was still informative and educational.

Learned a lot about the town's history, and most of the displays were well done. Some of the displays, however, no longer worked.

The museum was very informative but the exhibits were old and some which were moving replicas didn't work. If you are short on time I would not recommend this museum. You can get the same information online.

This is a small, well set up museum. You really have to visit this museum if you are in Jim Thorpe as it gives a very good overview of the history.

This is an interesting museum with unusual artifacts and some excellent models and photos. Displays chronicle the rise, decline, fall and rebirth of the coal industry town which is now a splendid victorian tourist destination. There is also plenty of information on Jim Thorpe himself....More

Not very special. A video show followed by a walk around full of weird things that make you wonder why you paid $5.

The collections in the Mauch Chunk Museum describe the coal mining history of the area and explains the connection (or lack of connection) of Jim Thorpe to the area.
