Trying to stay warm on an unexpected snowy day in Johnstown, PA. Plane has been around a long time and provides quick transportation from one side of mountain to the other. Cute gift shop that was also a warm location to wait for return trip.

This inclined plane is the steepest in the world, slightly steeper than even the famed incline in Pittsburgh. The view is fabulous (see photos attached). An added bonus is Assiago's restaurant my personal 5 star restaurant at the top (see my review at their site)....More

This is an interesting device built in the 1800s but still working today. Very unique and gives fabulous views of Johnstown and the surrounding valley. A must see in Johnstown (which otherwise has little to see).

This inclined plane shuttles vehicles and people up the side Of the hill. Good view of Johnstown from the top.

Great tourist attraction! We spent time going up and down several times throughout the day viewing the city at different times.

Well worth the time to go do... take a ride to the top of the incline and enjoy the views for miles around.

OMG. This is just amazing. The Inclined Plane was built in 1891 to help people get to the top instead of traveling 2 hours around the mountain. It was also used to help evacuate over 4,000 citizens in the 1977 flood...
