Family and friends all enjoyed the experience at the Mennonite Historical Society. The movies were very informitive about the difference between the Amish and Mennonites and the guided tour of the Tebernacle disply was educational. Nice place to visit especially if interested in history.

My Beau has family from this area and he wanted to dig a bit deeper. The movie about this group was very interesting and enlightening. I like what they believe. It was worth a side trip and to specifically find a place to start. A gentleman at the counter was glad to help us. Donations accepted.

Many interesting displays and merchandise to purchase. There is a fee to enter the museum part though. Great to understand the local culture.

I first went for the museum and folk art, but I keep coming back for the book sales. The staff and volunteers are all friendly and knowledgeable.

Librarian helped with genealogy research. Librarian found reference materials and knew local family connections I never would have found on my own.

We own the home which was once owned by Martin Mylin, revolutionary war gunsmith, his gun shop is 300 yards from the house and is on the register of historical places. Being a history buff and wanting to learn more about the history of our area, I joined the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society. I was very impressed with the physical... More

We found this to be a very interesting museum. Lots to read and absorb. Not your ordinary "tourist" type museum. If you are truly interested in learning more on the Amish/Mennonite culture, this is a must see.

Took about a half hour to read all the exhibits in this $5/person museum. Would have like to have learned more of the history of the Mennonites and Amish.

I do genealogy and find this place the best I've seen in Lancaster County. The staff is helpful - just ask questions. If history or genealogy is your thing make sure to put this place on you bucket list. There is SO MUCH info here and you will return time and time again. On each research day I go here,... More
