One of the best reconstructed forts of the French and Indian War period. Outstanding museum with many personal items of value and historical significance. Highly recommend this attraction.

This facility was a surprisingly interesting stop. I'm not a huge fan of historical museums, but my friends were interested in seeing a fort while they were visiting so I chose this one because the location fit well in our travels. I wasn't expecting half of what they had here! What a fantastic collection of memorabilia! This was very worth... More

You will be surprised at all you can find in the Fort. Doesn't look very big but really is an amazing place. Staff well educated and friendly. Hopefully you can go when the re-enactors are there. A must see if you come to Ligonier!!!

The second weekend of October Ligonier hosts Fort Ligonier days. There are tours of the museum and reenactments. There is a huge parade on Saturday that comes down the Main Street and around the town square. It is such a special little town. It really takes you back in time. There are quaint little shops that are open during the... More

This museum is simply awesome if you love history. Fort Ligonier was built during the French and Indian War time period and it houses many original items from the time period, including many dug artifacts from the actual site. And there is one painting from the French and Indian War time period hung in their climate controlled paintings room. The... More

Fort Ligonier was one in a string of forts during the time of the French and Indian war, which was the North American theater of the 7 years war. The fort has been extensively recreated. (I'm not knowledgeable to say what percentage has been recreated, but I it appears complete to me.) We had a tour by a very knowledgable... More
