This was our first experience at Rainbow. The person who took our reservation was very nice and friendly. The building is nice, clean, and attractive. Our food was good. We both got the flank steak, mac & cheese, and vegetables. Warm and tasty and we were served pretty quickly! However the play that we saw was disappointing. Mama Won't Fly... More

Mama won't fly was so enjoyable. We attended the Thursday of the snow and many did cancel, but it still made for a wonderful matinee. The buffet was very good. The servers/ actors were very attentive and if we asked for something we got it. The play was very family oriented, so if you have children don't be afraid. Wine... More

Recently attended the comedy show "Mama won't fly". Very nicely done, good acting cast ( who by the way are also the servers for dinner), and funny. We opted for the show and dinner, which is nicely spaced so that guests are not waiting long to be served their dinner selections. You get a choice from 4 main courses, salad,... More

For my wife's birthday we took the kids to see Mama Don't Fly. Service was fast. Food was what we expected for a dinner theater. The writing was very good. Stagehands as hilarious as the actors/ actresses. Had an excellent evening. 11 year old understood the jokes. It was well done. We would definitely go back

Rainbow is a comedy play only dinner theater. I sat through the entire play "Green Holly & Gray Potatoes", and didn't even make one chuckle. I've honestly seen high school plays that were more entertaining. As far as the food, it's Ok. Again, nothing really special here. Dutch Apple dinner theater blows this place out of the water. This was... More

Our senior group visited the playhouse for a matinee performance preceded by a buffet lunch. The lunch selection was uneven, but overall the meal was satisfactory. The homemade ice cream served at intermission was delicious. Loved "Green Holly & Gray Potatoes". A little sex was thrown in, but at ages 81 and 76, we were not upset. Left laughing heartily!

Our travel club went here to see the play 'Green Holly & Gray Potatoes' yesterday. It was hilarious. Words cannot describe completely how much my friend and I enjoyed it. The actors in the play were great and it was nice that after the play they met and greeted anyone who wanted to talk to them. We had the best... More

The playhouse lost electricity in the morning and could not make their normal foods. So for dinner I had a half of a grilled cheese sandwich and 8 french fries. The soup was outstanding and the salad not so much. The desserts were OK. At $50 a ticket I would have thought they would have given some kind of compensation... More

We did not care for language and the sexual overtones. You should never bring children to these shows. The one good thing is that they serve good food.

While we respect James S.'s point of view, we at Rainbow stand behind the material we present. and proudly consider ourselves a very 'mainstream' theater in terms of the content, language and intent of our shows. It is important to note that, of the roughly 50,000 people who visit us every year, we annually get two or three responses similar... More
