Beautiful park, lake, and trails. I did an 8 mile hike with Michelle (Environmental Educator at Black Mos.) She was AWESOME! It was a very fun and informative hike. I did not kayak the lake (yet) but there were many people out enjoying that activity....More

There was our first experience renting an RV and camping. The RV sites and campsites are a nice distance apart. We were there in early spring so the park was pretty empty except on the weekend. We had a pull thru site with water, electric...More

We stayed in one of the modern cabins for the weekend. It has a bunk room for 4 and a Master Bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom with shower. The park is beautiful and well kept.

Always a great place to camp, but late and early seasons are best! Wildlife abounds. Plenty of well marked trails to explore.

We stopped for a visit at the S.B. Elliot State Park ranger station just off of I-80 exit 111. Just inside the ranger station they have a plethora of information pamphlets on the local outdoors. Many maps for hiking trails, camping, and even snowmobile trails.

I've been here many times. Used to live in the area so I know 'Mo.' Winding roads, off roads, natural spring, creeks & wild life. Swimming, row boats, hunting camps. Picnicking, activities. Great place for outdoor fun.

Hi - we are looking at the 'rustic cabin' for a November weekend. Is it a traditional wood fireplace for heat and does it seem like it would work well enough for a cold weekend? thanks!

I do not recall an insert, but I do remember the large (brick?) area in front of the fireplace, to protect the rest of the floor from sparks. Perhaps another reviewer has a better recollection. I do think as far as... More
