River is pretty nice. Water was low and clear for fishing but still a good time.Caught some blugills in the river on smallmouth flies. Trails in the park are kept up.

We saw a pileated woodpecker as we pulled into the parking lot which was an awesome sight! We had a great picnic near the stream. Some tables have been there for many years, so it's a good idea to choose carefully, and to take a tablecloth/blanket. We then walked across the bridge which is closed to vehicles and up the... You can have a picnic or grill they have charcoal grills. Or bring your own. There are great hiking trails to the most beautiful seenery I have seen in a... More

That's the first word that comes to me when I think of Ralph Stover State Park. Not that you'll never run into others there but on a Sunday morning which is when I have always gone there if you go early enough meaning before the casual hikers and dog walkers get up you can hike the whole trail and only... This park is out in the "boonies" which makes it nice to go for some quiet time. I have always had a nice time when going here.

Ralph Stover Park has two entrances: the main park entrance off of Stump Road and an upper area for High Rocks Vista off of Tory Road (from Route 611) or Tohickon Hill Road from Point Pleasant (Rt. 32). If you want a hike up hill and through the trees, go to the main entrance and enjoy the creek. My sons... More

Beautiful park. It is kind of steep and you have to be careful if you are hiking - especially with children or dogs. It is especially lovely in the fall. Nice ride getting there too - very peaceful.

I had planned an Appaplachian Trail hike to New England last weekend, but my firend bagged out. With the family out of town, I drive to High Rocks section of Ralph Stover Park (Tory Road) and proceeded east/ south along the High Rocks rim (beautiful long distance vistas and 200' drop to the Tohickon Creek). I continued on the trail... More
