This is a nice trail to walk and see the river and more of the city, but it was a far walk from downtown to get there. On the plusside you can get the city bikes and that makes it better. The trail leaves you...More

We biked several portions of the trail and had a good time. We biked from the PNC Park died of the river over the bridge to the bike trail to maneuver through the city. It was a little rough in spots but overall In good...More

It seems like every time we are in Pittsburgh, we end up going for a walk on the trail for some reason. If you stay in the Point Park/North Shore area, it's the easiest way to get around to the stadiums and restaurants. It's paved...More

The trail is closed east of the convention center on the south side of the Allegheny. Wonderful views of the north and south sides. There is a pretty reflection pond as you walk under the convention center towards 10th St and the Cultural District. The...More

As a native Pittsburgher, this is one of our family's favorite things to do. We always start the trail from Washington's landing (Herr's Island) and ride towards the Point. Parking on the island is free and usually available. The trail is on the north side...More

Poor information on where to access this trail. Address listed here only brings you to the start of Allegheny River Blvd. Could not enjoy the trail.

This trail seems to be still in the making and from what I can see it's just a bike path and not very established

Walked from the Strip District to the Point, under no fewer than 5 bridges along the Allegheny River. About 10 years ago I kayaked on the Allegheny in this area and found it to be an interesting and different perspective of Pittsburgh, this trail gives...More

Took this trail on our way back from Point State Park. It is a very pleasant walk and there are staircases along the way to get up to street level. Nice walk along the river and not on the upper level with the streets, cars,...More

Hi, We are coming to Pittsburgh for a family vacation and this includes grandparents and grand children ages 2-17. Would the Heritage Trail be suitable for such a range in ages? And where should we park to begin tour?

I think so. If you asking about the trail between PNC Park and the Casino, along the river, it's wide open with great views and is pretty flat. You may have to be concerned about a youngster near the river - I don't... More
Hi all! I am planning on coming down this weekend for a bit of biking along the Heritage Trail. I'm wondering where is the best/safest place to park the car for the day? Thanks!
