Honestly I would skip the incline. It is difficult to park or you have to pay to park in a parking garage. Onboard the incline I thought there would be a conductor to talk about the history. Once at the top there was literally nothing...More

Get a transit card and use it to ride to and from Station Square, then you can use it to ride the incline. This incline seems easier to get to vs. Duquesne incline. I recommend visiting when the sun is coming up, you won't regret...More

Inexpensive and fantastic views of the city. Make sure you sit in the first car and try to see this in the evening. A great neighborhood to explore, too.

Love inclines, Pittsburgh is fortunate enough to have 2 and we enjoyed both. If you step out onto the street there is a large overlook just to the side of the upper station where you can get some magnificent photos.

I went up the Duquesne Incline, walked the few miles on the top of the mountain to the Monongahela Incline to go down. It’s steep as hail! And a slow crawl down the mountain. It thankfully seems to be a lot shorter than the Duquesne!

You can get a great view of the city from the observation deck. It is also a nice way to get to Station Square.

If you are planning on using the subways or busses, you can buy a day pass at the machine, also. It was $7 last time I went and you can ride the inclines and busses and subways all you want that day. You will love the... More
