Who in the hell shuts down the incline for maintenance during Christmas week? Is Penndot running the incline now? No prior notice and the buses aren't running very often to get to the other one.

If you love beautiful scenery and views, skylines and city lights, you should ride this at LEAST once each way. Incredible view and going up takes you to Mount Washington for the Godfather of all city views! Must do!

Walk across the Smithfield bridge and to the incline station. The bridge is a Roebling bridge (he built the Brooklyn Bridge) so it provides a nice prototype for his later works. The incline itself costs a couple of dollars, and once you figure out the ticket machine, it's an easy ride up and down. At the top, there are commanding... More

Old and quite rickety. It's got some good views as you climb. Worthwhile doing on the way up, you can then choose to walk back down if you wish.

This incline is a little bit down the road from the other incline in Pittsburgh. Although it doesn't have as good of views of the city as the other incline, this one is still a really fun ride. It has the square shopping area at the bottom of it and nice views from the top.

I call this living history and rightfully so. It's one of the oldest funicular railway still functioning and very much a great exciting short ride to the top to see spectacular views of the entire Pittsburgh skyline. Take the incline at night and park at the station square nearby. Restaurants are available on top and at station square as well.... More

Nice trip and a great view. There is a quaint neighborhood at the top with a few small shops and restaurants

I'm sorry, nothing special with the incline, long lines, couple of minutes overseeing three rivers and that´s it!
