Definitely one of my favorite things in Pittsburgh! Interactive and educational. So many adorable birds, plus a sloth and bats! Will go again.

As an admitted bird nerd I cannot believe it had been 15 yrs since I had been to the aviary! It is a very impressive facility full of cool displays and fun facts. Don't miss the special events and feedings. Plan ahead to see them...More

The aviary is awesome. You can get up close and personal with the birds....They fly right to you. As of August 2017 they now have baby flamingos....softest babies ever. I highly recommend signing up for an experience.

It's pricey for such a small place (around $30 each, if I remember right). We enjoyed the birds, of which there was some variety but certainly not exhaustive (like at Loro Parque in Tenerife). There didn't seem to be a particular theme to the species...More

This has a varied number of exotic birds from different places. We enjoyed seeing all the different kinds of birds and had a wonderful morning touring through it.

This small aviary was a pleasant surprise. The exhibits were extremely well-maintained, there was plenty of information and staff on hand to keep you informed, and honestly more to see than I expected. The aviary makes excellent use of the building, with almost every nook...More

So my daughter has a fascination with sloths. This, surprisingly, has a sloth experience. So the plan was to drop her off, and find something else to do around town. However, I decided to walk around (we had to pay to get in anyway). Even...More

Nice facility for young people. Well done displays and educational signage. Condors to Penguins... Small food area. Some cage area's seemed small. It is in a large park so lots of other fun times for the kids.

We came to Pittsburgh solely to visit the Aviary because I have a flamingo-loving 10yr old and I heard they had some baby flamingo chicks you could hold if you booked an "encounter." The encounter was $40/person. I booked the encounter for me and three...More

The aviary is a wonderful venue to see birds from throughout the world in their native habitat. The experience is made even more special with the inside bird show and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the large number of volunteer docents.

The Aviary is on the North Side on Arch street. If you are driving, it would be about 10 minutes. I'm sorry I did not answer sooner as I've been very busy and had not seen the email request, but I hope this answer finds... More
