As a surburban resident, I found the directions on Mapquest & the Aviary's website poor. It was not easy to find. Parking is not easy either. There definitely needs to be more and larger signs in the area to direct you to the site. If...More

My daughter found the National Aviary on a website and we visited, planning to spend an hour or so. We ended up spending 4 hours and could have spent more. Make sure you make time for the various feedings to see the birds up close...More

The National Aviary remains my family’s favorite way to kill half a day. Whether you’re escaping a mountain lion or just made the big sale, the Aviary is the place for you. Beautifully enclosed in glass to keep the birds in and the wood borer...More

We enjoyed visiting recently with family and enjoyed both the variety and beauty of the birds. They even had penguins and large raptors. I took the opportunity to feed some of the parrots which was a fun experience.

Great variety of animals in a small space. A lot of opportunity to get up close with animals. Feeding the lorikeets is fun. Don’t miss the birds of prey presentation. Adorable baby sloth!

Our family really enjoyed our visit. It is a smaller museum but it had some great exhibits. My daughters loved the butterfly house. We also went to a presentation on the Amazon and it was done very well with knowledgeable staff.

My husband and I visited the National Aviary during our vacation in Pittsburgh. We went right at opening on a Sunday, which was nice because there were barely any crowds. We added tickets and saw the Amazon show and fed the Rainbow Lorikeets. The Amazon...More

I have gone there at least 3 times over the past few years. Learned a lot and really enjoyed all the birds, especially the outdoor show. Love it.

As a proud owner of Zebra Finches, I enjoyed seeing an entire zoo devoted to birds. The National Aviary is a premier destination for any bird owner. It's smaller than you would expect but there are many interesting exhibits packed into a limited space. There...More

While visiting family, we visited the Aviary and had a good time. There is an exhibit that you can feed birds, walk through an exhibit where birds are free to wander. There is a huge variety of species so this was educational as well as...More

I have taken a large group through and you could do all of the exhibits in 2 hours. But you could stay longer if you take in one of the bird shows.
