Every time we are in Pittsburgh, we come here. They have a great set up for their birds and you can get up close and personal with a few, not on purpose. Love this place!

Our family of four (w/two teens) had a good 2 hours here. We loved the close-up view outside of watching the penguins eat, and we also loved seeing the feeding in the Wetlands area. There were some gorgeous birds there. And don't miss the sloth...More

The day we went, a couple of the rooms were not opened due to construction. There is not a lot to see there for adults. Much of the areas were very congested- we had a wheelchair with us and it was very difficult to maneuver...More

We made a weekend trip to Pittsburgh over spring break and were pleasantly surprised with the variety of things to see and do at the aviary. I could have spent hours in the Wetlands area alone, especially since we were there in time for feeding....More

It’s nice but the tropical area was closed. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it five stars. Feed the birds if you can that was the best part.

The aviary is a must for Pittsburgh visitors. It’s the only free standing aviary in the country. There you can see birds that are extinction the wild! Think about that!! They have habitat rooms with the birds free flying. You may get landed upon! They...More

We had the owl encounter at my son's wedding. The trainer brought the owl from table to table during dinner. I did not see anyone touch it, just the trainer holding the owl and photos taken with it.
