Pretty small and you can go through relatively quickly but still pretty cool. Good time filler anyway. Birds and other animals seemed very well cared for. Pricey snack area.

The National Aviary was a great way to spend four hours. I loved it. I fed the Lorikeets, walked through the butterfly house, and got to see a 5 month old sloth eat sweet potatoes.

Haven't been to the Aviary since a nephew had his wedding reception there about 10 years ago. Went specifically to see their new "Ambassador" animal, Valentino-the world's cutest baby sloth! This is a great place for folks of any age to spend an afternoon enjoying...More

This place is interesting if you like birds We saw penguins at feeding time. We fed the lorikeets while they hopped on our arm. We saw a sloth being fed. And a lot of birds that I'm not familiar with. Go check it out.

This was a neat experience for adults and kids! It was fun to be surrounded by the birds, and be up close to the ones you can't be in the enclosure with. They offer many different experiences, including watching them feed the animals and having...More

Stopped here and we stayed most of the day! Make sure you plan out to go to all of the feedings - all are free except the lorikeet feeding, which is included in the show ticket price-! We moved from room to room to show...More

Our Girl Scout trip decided to spend a long weekend in Pittsburgh, and the Aviary was on all the lists of Top Things to do in Pittsburgh. We were very skeptical. I mean, how interesting could birds be even on their best day? We were...More

We attended the birds of prey show on the roof top which was interesting and great to watch. The staff seem to love their work.

While staying in Pittsburg- we figured we would check it out to get out of the 90 degree heat. It seemed small for the price- doesn't seem like any more birds than our local zoo in Syracuse. Kids 10 and 13 saw about all we...More

Assuming you like birds, this place is amazing. We didn't purchase any of the shows, but we did go to the baby sloth feeding (too adorable) and the scheduled feedings. It was really cool to see so many birds. It wasn't that crowded, and we...More

I don't know if you can feed the Lorikeets without buying a general admission ticket for the aviary. If I recall, they are towards the middle of the aviary. I believe that the fee for feeding the Lorikeets is just $3 (not... More
