Hickory Run State Park is my favorite Hiking Location. Maintained trails - Hawk Falls (water fall), Boulder Field geological formation. Numerous creeks and river access available. Organized camping. Nature workshops. Sandy Beach in season. Ranger station with trail maps. Fishing hot spots. First time I...More

The biggest turnoff of the smaller fall/winter campground here is the lack of privacy between campsites. I'm used to other Pennsylvania state parks that provide a buffer of trees between campsites (like Ricketts Glen, French Creek, and Worlds End), where it's easy to feel like...More

This is a neat place. There are lots of dirt roads that go on and on. There's a lot of good trees here and dark forests. We were fortunate to see a bear roaming around a road here and then back into the woods. Of...More

Boulder field was a really cool place to see, and to actually climb out on the rocks. Spent some time at some of the lakes, and taking sunset photos.

We visited for the first time this fall, and sure glad we made it out. The majority of the campground was closed for the season, but the extended section was open. I wouldn't choose this area of the campground 'in-season' but it sufficed for our...More

While the trails are not the most spectacular in Pennsylvania, they deserve a five-star rating just for being so well marked. Trails are particularly challenging in the fall with all the leaves hiding the path but not a problem here.

I went to Hickory Run State Park last weekend, and when I arrived the lot for the boulder field trail looked packed. Since I was looking to enjoy nature and get away from people, I went down to the park office, grabbed a map and...More

Great place to camp. Clean, lots to see and plenty of hiking trails. If I had any complaint the campsites were very close together.

I've been to Hickory Run several times. If you like a rustic heavily wooded setting, then here's the place. There's a pet friendly section for mans best friend, electric hook ups for the RV's and a big tent section. Bathroom / showers are clean enough...More

My husband and I stopped by here for the Shades of Death Trail. We parked in the amphitheater parking area. This hike is called "easy" on some sites, and "moderate/difficult" on others, so I didn't know what to expect. The trail is very well marked...More

Assuming you want electric 281-288 would be your best bet. These sites could easily handle a camper of that size. They are also pet friendly sites if you have a dog. Im sure there is other sites that could handle your camper... More
