The Fantastic Umbrella Factory has been an attraction in South County for as many years as I can remember. I've been there many times over the years, honestly don't see anything fantastic about it, and it's not a factory... I'm not sure if they even sell umbrellas? It's an OK place to visit on a nice day with good weather.... More

a little magical spot in Charlestown. Worth a visit. Stores seem to change yearly but very worth a visit. Gardens are beautiful

We found this place by accident. Really cute shops and nice place to walk around. There's a cafe, though we didn't try it. There's 3 emus, some goats and chickens for the kids and a chalk path for the kids to draw on. Great stopping off place mif you're in the area.

The Fantastic Umbrella Factory has it all--gorgeous exotic plants, healthy and varied garden plants, beautiful hanging baskets--and that's only the greenhouse area. Throughout the complex, are little buildings with shops which sell souvenirs, clothing, food, locally crafted tee shirts, and a coop of local crafters' wares. Then there are goats, emus, chickens and ducks in pens, and a bamboo forest... More

a different kind of shopping expererience that you and the entire family will enjoy. multiple shops, a restaurant, neat grounds to walk around. shops that are upstairs are not for the handicapped as they are high wooding stairs. but the shops downstairs and there are quite a few are great for anyone. a neat place for a few hours of fun.

many of the quaint shoppes were closed mid November but we were not impressed with what was open. it looked like the garden and landscaping would be enjoyable in the other seasons, and maybe some of the other shops that were closed might have offered more

A collection of funky shops filled with hippie clothing, jewelry, candles, gorgeous crafts. A walk through a bamboo forest with a surprise clearing. Unique chickens, emus with gurgling cries. A café and a general store. All in all, this was a relaxing, fun way to spend several hours.

Been there before - WOW. It took me back to when I was in college in Boston with mini skirts and weed. Weather was great. It was a beautiful day in the 70's and sunny.
