During the summer it is a great beach for families it has miles of sand beach so you can find a spot with ample room for any size family there is restrooms and showers and changing rooms. Parking is limited so you have to get there early or pay extra to park at private marina near town park..

Great beach but can be very hard to get out of the water as has a lot of stones. It is beautiful for walking and we do almost every day. Love it

Would like to visit again when it is not so cold because it seems like it would not be overly crowded even in the summertime.

We never tire of the RI beaches. Charlestown doesn't have some of the amenities of the others but it's beautiful, clean and the other people on the beach are friendly. Its our favorite!

Popular beach for out-of-towners. However, after the crowds have thinned out later in the day this is a fabulous place to see a sunset. Lots of locals flock to the beach and set up a basket of appetizers and drinks. Try not to be too noticeable with the drinks as alcohol is technically not permitted. Sit back and take in... More

This beach is walking distance to where we stayed. Really like it though it gets a bit busy not not crazy busy like some places. The only thing I can say that was a point against it, the bathrooms close early, like around 5 which can be an issue when we bring the kids.

This is one of my family's favorite beaches in New England. The surf is a bit different every day. Even morning to afternoon waves can vary dramatically. The waves break hard a few feet from the shore. As such, you run the risk of being "pummeled" by waves every now and then. The guys who skim board love this beach.... More

Good waves, Del's frozen lemonade, new, clean restrooms - what more could you want? The staff, both in the parking lot and the lifeguards, are friendly and efficient.

I loved this place!!! The channel rushing water out from the marshs meeting with the ocean is the coolest thing to see! I couldn't stop watching it!! you can see the wave rushing in underneath the channel water pushing out. great place to fish and walk the rock. the sand is super fine and silky, and its a great beach...
