On a whim, we decided to visit Jamestown for a quiet hike. Fort Getty is easily accessible after the campground has quieted down and there are many places to explore. There is a very short trail just at the base of the estuary (please keep your dogs leashed, it is a protected environment). You can walk this trail and listen... More

In June I made a reservation to camp in August. I saw that my credit card had been charged the full fee. Then in July, still a month and a half before my reservation, I had a change of plans and called to cancel my reservation. No one could help me. I tried different numbers, gave my credit card information... More

I camped here on a solo motorcycle trip. I'm torn about Fort Getty. There are some really good things about it. The view is nice. It's on a hill so there are fewer mosquitos. There's space. You can light a fire. There are tables. The bathrooms were clean. But, there are a few quirks I didn't love. You don't park... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night as we explored the state. The girl that checked us in was very helpful and gave great recommendations on where to eat and see a local band. Our site was a 2 minute walk from the water, which we appreciated. There were very few 'campers' and tons of 'glampers' in their... More

I placed a reservation over the phone and the person I spoke to promised me a campsite in the area removed from the RV camping. When we arrived, not only were we placed directly next to the RVs, but our campsite was already occupied! We decided to go to a different campground but the person in the office said that... More

I attended a wedding reception at the pavilion. Great venue with beach access and gorgeous views! Such a serene place with great places to walk. The pavilion was rebuilt recently and was a perfect setting for a casual reception.

Came here to explore another remnant of American history. Much of site has been backfilled and is inaccesible. Few old batteries to check out and climb on. Views over to Dutch Island. Good for an hour outside to check out the grounds.

I went camping in a tent over the weekend of June 7 and right from the start the experience was terrible! When we got there and checked in, we went to the site that we had booked and there was already somebody there with the tent all set up and everything. We went to the booth where a young girl... Great place to walk the dogs, play sports, romantic walks. Surrounded on all sides by water, wonderful views of the harbor, bay, and ocean.
