Just $2 plus admission to Hunting Island State Park. Like others have mentioned, it's an easy climb if you are at all fit. If not, you can stop and catch your breath on each broad landing while "reading" the informational sign and pretending that you...More

Being from New England, I have visited many lighthouses, but this one might be my favorite. There were over 700 steps to climb, and I am no youngster! But there is a large landing at every level and the stairs are wide, so it was...More

An easier climb than most lighthouses. Take in the view and savor the surroundings. It's a must do in the Charleston area.

It costs $2 each to climb the lighthouse, and it is definitely worth it. The park rangers were very nice and friendly and took our photo before we climbed. It's about 170 steps to the top. On the way, they have several displays about the...More

A great treat to climb the stairs to the top and learn a bit of history on the way. Very pleasant staff.

If you enjoy taking pictures or climbing light houses then it's worth visiting. It's from the late 1800s, well preserved and cost only a few bucks if you want to climb. You can also pack a lunch or dinner and eat on the beach which...More

We visited the lighthouse and had a great time. In addition to the lighthouse, there are several small buildings on the site with informative displays about what life was like for those who lived at the lighthouse. We were fortunate to visit on one of...More

Awesome lighthouse. Good first lighthouse for our five year old grandson. He was able to climb it all by himself and didn’t get too tired!!!

As I understand the the lighthouse is fine, but the fence around it didn't survive. The island is devastated all the infastructure needs rebuilt. The only part of the island open is at the pier. .
