194 East Bay St – A retail kitchen supply store that also offers cooking classes. They modeled their classes after the New Orleans School of Cooking. We took the cooking class and thoroughly enjoyed it. Taught by a locally trained chef, the class was well paced. After a brief explanation of what we would be doing and a safety minute,... More

If your looking for any cooking items, they have it. There were items there that I wasn't sure how to use them. Great store. Friendly sales clerks and very informative. I will go there each time I am in Charleston just to look for new items.Bake ware, gadgets, books , pans

Not only does this store carry a large amt. of quality cooking supplies, they also offer cooking classes and demonstrations in their well equipped kitchen. Reservations are required and they fill up fast. Rasonably priced

I only got to shop once, wish I would have found this store before. Beautiful selection of foodie toys, Charleston goodies and cookbooks. I was able to buy Geechie Boy Grits that are locally grown and milled. A sign at the counter said the owner was retiring.

We were told that the store was closing permanently since it was recently purchased. However, when we went in there to look for some really great close outs, we found that most items were markdown only about 25 to 30%. I really never found any bargains. I did buy a can opener that was guaranteed for life, and I ended... More

We had a great time at Charleston Cooks! Our chef and speaker was educational and funny--and clearly very good a coominfy to boot! I enjoyed watching and learning new techniques and trying new food. The meal was just enough. I also bought the recipe book and a gadget I liked that he used. Both were used within the week after... More

These cooking demos are great fun! And you get great cooking ideas and great food to eat too! Unfortunately this establishment is closing soon!

Based on the reviews, I was really excited to go. The store took me a total of 3 minutes to browse. It was basically an overrated, overpriced Bed, Bath and Beyond. I'm glad I had made lunch plans near by since the store visit by itself to downtown Charleston wouldn't have been worth it.

Sorry to hear that the place is closing because it has a great variety of cooking gizmos and bags of local specialty foods - grits, rice, etc. Did go to the cooking school. Could have bought more except didn't want to carry too much around. Enjoyed our visit.
