The have desks staffed to help with reservations and a small gift shop. There is parking here for $1/half hour with a maximum of around $20. You could park here for the day and... More

My husband and I went to the Visitor Center to get info and tickets. The building is very nicely laid out, pleasant folks to help you out, and a trolley stop out front.

We stopped by here to make reservations for the Harbor boat tour, but we did not get there in time due to the bus running late. When we got back to the center we selected to go on the city tour in the air conditioned limo/mini bus which was nice.

The Visiting Center was awesome! It had everything anyone could want when visiting a new place. There were bathrooms, bus schedules, maps, restaurant tips, people to help you, and lovely signs and pictures everywhere.

If you don't have your trip entirely planned out before arriving in Charleston, I recommend that you stop here first. There is so much material for tourists regarding attractions and lodging. They can book a room or a tour for you and provide helpful information when making decisions about what to see and do in Charleston.
