Aside from the fact that my faith is important to me, I found my attendance and viewing of St. Mary's to be a great experience from a faith and historical standpoint. The church is beautiful and well kept and is the oldest Catholic Church in...More

We attended Easter mass at 9:00 am. We were sure to get there with plenty of time to spare since we anticipated it would be crowded and it was. We were there 45 minutes before the mass and were able to get seats. The church...More

What a beautiful church this is, never knew it existed in all our visits to Charleston. Lot of history and stained glass windows really beautiful, old fashioned pews and choir loft a lot of history.

I attended 11 am Sunday Mass here during my trip to Charleston. It was lovely! The choir and organ music were beautiful. The priest had a great homily. And I loved that everyone kneels at the communion rail to receive the Eucharist. Definitely check this...More

It was very worthwhile to go to the 9am Mass in downtown Charleston. The church was lovely and you could just feel how old your surroundings were. The congregation was welcoming with typical Southern charm.

Full of Catholic history. Beautiful murals throughout the church. A very spiritual and holy place. Loved the church was open mid day and we were able to light candles for our loved one. The walk around the cemetery grounds were enlightening, but sad for all...More

I was cutting from Meeting Street to King Street and was passing this by accident. The pillars, which look bluish, caught my attention. It's a cool old church and only takes a few minutes to check out.

Attended the 9:30 am Sunday mass (the only mass offered there). The church itself, the wonderful choir, the integration of Latin via the singing were the highlights. The sermon was good but very long. Communion was a surprise....everyone kneeled at the altar rail to receive...More
