Tommy Dew's history tour of Charleston was one of the best history tours I have participated in. Tommy is an expert and conveys his knowledge in an entertaining, thoughtful manner. You can tell how much he cares about his adopted city, and the truth, by...More

If Tommy Dew stuck to a simple tour of Charleston's Historic Disrict, the $25 fee might have been acceptable; however, he makes his customers suffer through 2 hours of a biased and offensive view of the Civil War and slavery. He is definitely still "fighting...More

A very nice walking tour. Great knowledge and nice speed to the tour. Highly recommend! It covered so many things that we would never have learned on our own......or in history books for that matter!

I would not recommend this tour. Tommy's presentation of a southern slave culture in which he painted a deceptive image of slavery that failed to depict the true suffering of human beings to a cruel and reprehensible treatment. I felt slimed! I took this tour...More

Definitely a Southern perspective permeated the tour . Tommy was talking about " the War " as if we should all know it was the " Civil War " . I am from NJ and could see how his Southern view was bitterly resentful of...More
