Charleston in a Nutshell is the ideal walking tour for sightseers who have a limited amount of time yet want to visit the "must-see" places. Learn about the city's history, architecture, and culture with historian Jeff Zimmerman. Jeff has been a licensed guide since 1997 and is an eighth generation carolinian. You will also go off the beaten path to seldom seen places that are off limits to bus and carriage tours. I also offer group and private tours upon request.

Jeff did an absolute great job showing my wife and I around Charleston. He focused on things we were interested in and answered all of our questions. We always do "private" tours where ever we go, and this was one of the best!

We are frequent visitors to this beautiful, welcoming city, but have never experienced some of the areas that Jeff introduced us to on this trip. For 2 hours we walked and talked about the "walled city", on an incredibly cold morning I might add, but...More

My husband surprised me with a trip to Charleston for Christmas. It was after the freak blizzard there and Jeff still met us on the cold icy streets at 10AM! The cold didn't phase him, and after five minutes it didn't phase us either as...More

Hi Cathy. So glad you enjoyed my walking tour. We just had an epic snow storm, now Charleston looks a bit like your native New England! Hope you can come back again.
