Went later in the afternoon and the lighting was great for taking pictures. It is at the north end of Folly Beach. Park outside the gate and take a walk on a paved path to the lighthouse. At the end of th unassuming path opens...More

We've visited Morris Island a few times and it's always so peaceful and quiet there. Not many visitors as you need a boat to get over and visit. If you want some beautiful shells this is the beach to go to...you will not be disappointed....More

You can see it from the north tip of Folly Beach or you can boat up to Morris island and get pretty close to it. I hope it gets restored one day.

A little out of the way but worth it. You can't get to without a boat but a must see if you are trying to see all lighthouses on the coast.

I parked in the limited parking area just before the 1/2 mile paved entrance to the beach. The lighthouse can only be seen up close by boat as it sets on a sand bar island. Easily seen from shore. Nice beach where folks picnic. Driftwood...More

Not really. The base is no longer really connected to land, and it is rather unsafe to boot. That said, I don't think anyone is really watching it on a regular basis, so if you took a small boat/paddleboard/kayak/etc over... More

I think it would be a beautiful spot for any photo. But remember you have to walk about a quarter of a mile to get to the spot so in the heat of a Charleston summer it may be quite hot and it is on the ocean so it will be... More
