We love this church. We chose to get married here. It's history is extraordinary, interwoven with the often painful history of Charleston. It's been a progressive force in the city since 1681! The architecture is stunning; the cemetery is the oldest in the city. The congregation is welcoming to visitors, including same-sex couples.

This church looks really old. It has an old graveyard next to it as well. It looks European or something as the architecture is different than all the other buildings. It's definitely worth a look. I liked it.

Beautiful Romanesque Circular Church. With a small graveyard in the back. Centuries old, with many tombstones toppled over. Lots of history, of course. I was sorry that we did not plan well ahead, attending a concert in the church would have been a wonderful experience. We always plan at least one church concert when we travel to Europe, just did... If you are looking for a wonderful concert in a beautiful church, you must attend one of these concerts. Great selection of music, spirituals, civil war songs and audience participation. You won't be disappointed spending an evening here.

We attended this amazing musical performance which featured "Gospel to Gershwin" music. Seeing the church should be a must on your list anyway, but the musical performance which is 1x a week in the evening, should definitely be on your bucket list! Such talent!!! Such an amazing uplifting experience!

Congregationalists were among early settlers, but now are mostly represented here in this church which has long been a leader for social justice and a host of concerts and performances. Beautiful interior, interesting graveyard. Lovely little Greek Temple in the graveyard.

Charleston, South Carolina, is all history and so is the Circular Congregational Church. Located at 150 Meeting Street in Charleston's Historic District, it is one of the oldest continuously worshipping congregations in the South. The original settlers of Charles Towne founded this protestant, or dissenting, church in 1681. The graveyard is the city's oldest burial grounds with monuments dating to... More

Was in Charleston with my family for Christmas. The Circular Church is lovely both inside and out. We attended Christmas Eve service at the Circular Church and the service was lovely and the congregation very friendly. Really enjoyed to candle light carols outside the church. Would love to go to a performance here. Thank you for a lovely Christmas Eve... More

This was a lovely church with most unusual architecture. I am not sure if it is open during the day for tours but we were able to see the inside when we attended the Sound of Charleston. I think one of the most interesting views of the architecture is from cemetery in the back of the building. The cemetery is... More
