You can drive across, walk, or ride a bike for the 2 1/2 mile bridge. You get a great view of the harbor and Patriot Point. It is very tall to allow the big ships under it.

I mean, it's a cool bridge but it's still a bridge. But it has a really wide walking path for joggers and bikers to cross over.

So use to bridges having ridiculous fees to cross. This bridge is free.It gets you to several of the islands leaving Charleston. It must be very pretty at night.

Beautiful bridge that fills the skyline as you look north from downtown Charleston. Drive over after sunset and catch the view of the lights.

This is a pretty scenic bridge with an excellent (newer) park on the Mt Pleasant side that is a good starting point for walking, but also a good space to enjoy on its own on a nice day.

This bridge is the largest suspension bridge in the US. Has a great view overlooking Charleston harbor, Fort Sumter, and the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point. Our engineer daughter was really impressed

Whether you are looking at it from afar, daytime or nighttime, or riding across, it is a marvel! It's a connection from Charleston to Mt. Pleasant, the Yorktown, Idle of Palms.

I admired this engineering specimen as we cruised over to Fort Sumter. We later drove over it. It offers a wide biking or walking path, as well--separated from vehicle lanes, of course.

The bicycle and pedestrian lane is 2.7 miles long, measuring from Patriots Point Road to East Bay Street. Measuring only the part that is on the bridge structure, the walkway is 2.4 miles long.
