- WildHaireAdventuresTyler, Texas1,548 contributionsWhat a wonderful place!Stopped here while visiting the area and loved it!! There are beautiful overlooks and trails to see. The Devil’s courthouse was pretty cool as well. We hiked the Silver Steps Falls trail and it was amazing, definitely give this park a try, you won’t regret it.Visited November 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 April 2023
- jstephens8Summerville, South Carolina13 contributionsOverlook! Skip the TrailWe visited early on a Thursday morning and there was scarcely anyone there but us. We checked out the overlook, which as many people have waxed poetic, is beyond description. You truly need to see it yourself. We also did the narrow squeeze through the Devil’s Kitchen which was pretty unique. My knock on the park was we did the Raven’s Cliff Falls trail out and back (4 miles) and it was kind of boring compared to other trails in the area. There wasn’t much to look at on the trail and the payoff at the end was the waterfall waaaaay off in the distance.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 July 2023
- Mike ETampa, Florida633 contributionsAmazing overlook. East access. We visited their overlook and also went down the steps to Devil’s Kitchen. It a very easy path and access from the parking lot. - Eaton_OutGreenville, South Carolina622 contributionsGreat view on most sunny daysView from the overlook is stunning on a sunny day but we often don't see much due to clouds and haze. The toilets appear to be nothing but glorified out-houses with no running water for flush. They are clean. I have stopped here for at least 50 years when passing by and it is a good rest stop. Walking trails from this location are said to be good but I have not walked them.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 December 2023

You have to drive around many curvy roads to get there. View from look out was great! So many hiking trails. We needed more time. The color of the leaves mostly yellow with some red. The drive there and leaving was full of colorful foliage… 💜🙃🍁

OUTSTANDING
Must see the Observation Overlook.
The view was undescribable.
The road leading up to the park is a very whinedy road, but well worth the trip.
While here, you MUST see -- Fred Symmes Chapel -- (the Pretty Place).
Totally undescribable.

We continued up the hill from Table Rock State Park , 11-5-2022 and the higher we climbed in elevation the thicker the fog became. When we got to the top it was totally socked in! Bummer! Nice little visitor center and park staff.

We did a nice Hike here to Ravens Cliff Falls. The Reviews listed the Hike as Hard, and it was. We did the 9-mile loop, there is a 4½ mile out and back option that would be much less climby. Very cool Waterfall with a Bridge over it. We also stopped at the main park overlook. It has an Awesome view on a clear day. Parking would have been a problem on the weekend, you would be lucky to get a spot. There is a $3 charge for Parking.

The road to get to this road is winding and long but when you arrive you will be rewarded with breathtaking views. Also great waterfalls to enjoy.

We picnicked here at Caesar's Head on Memorial Day and it was a great spot to eat lunch, and enjoy the cooler temps in the mountains.
Just and FYI, you'll have to pack in and pack out all of your trash if you decide to picnic here, as there are no trash receptacles.
The overlook is awesome, and definitely a place to take in the beauty surrounding you. The walk around the overlook and through the Devil's kitchen is quite short, however the Devil's Kitchen is very tight, so if you're afraid of small spaces it's probably not for you.
The areas around the top of the mountain are beautiful and well maintained. Definitely a recommended place to come, but there isn't much to do at the top, unless you plan to hike the trails, which do come at an extra cost, and from what I know can be pretty strenuous.

Are dogs on leash allowed?
Rollin M

Sorry, do not know, a trip to their website should tell you.
But I'd guess leashed dogs would be fine on the many out-trails there.
However, the viewsites right at the visitors center involve some steep stairs and drops and might prove entangling to others on a busy day there.
But DO go visit there!
Is a permit required for photography?

No, you do not need a permit. It is beautiful there and you can get many great shots. Have fun!

HI... I'm thinking of visiting Ceasers Head Park for Solar Eclipse view... was wondering how much room was at top of mountain for seeing the eclipse...is it a small area or enough room for many people? also is there other spots to see an unobstructed view of sky?
Thanks so much for any reply!

There is limited space atop Caesar's Head. If no one has the same idea as you it will be fine. Otherwise it will be very crowded. If you like to hike, a 3.5 mile trek to the top of nearby Table Rock would be better for watching the eclipse. There is lots of room on top of the mountain. If I didn't have to work that day I'd go up there myself.

I know Brevard is 15 miles down the road. Might not be the closest, but I thought it was easiest.

Hi, how far is the suspension bridge from the parking lot? Some of the trails are closed due to the wildfires so I'm curious to see if there's still access to the suspension bridge and how long it takes to get there. Thanks!

I believe it is about 2.2 miles each way. It is beautiful!! Please check with rangers though since the fires are still bad.

Is this place worth taking toddlers up to? Any stunning areas that could be somewhat accessible to them? Waterfalls in particular.
Chef Mark Christopher
Tuxedo, NC230 contributions
You would have to be extremely vigilant If you are taking toddlers on most of the trails. Think VERY carefully about trying this. Definitely visit the visitors center, there's lots to see there, then try this; get back on the road toward Brevard,NC. Make a right turn onto Cedar Mountain Road. This will take you into Dupont State Forest, where you can easily AND safely hike to several spectacular waterfalls. Plenty of off road parking. You're gonna love it!
