Visited the SC Museum on a Saturday afternoon with my wife and 14 year old son. We went to see the movie Polar Express in the 4D Theater. It was a great show with all the smells of hot cocoa, falling snow, spraying water. We then went to the Planetarium and saw piece on Planet Earth. Very interesting and a... More

Every Tuesday the tickets are discounted & there's still plenty to do. The observatory is a fine addition.

Decided to go one Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to find it was "First Sunday" which meant general admission was only $1 - you pay additional for special attractions; but the museum offers 4 floors of interesting exhibits..

Plan on spending the day because you'll need it to see everything. They have exhibits from the dinosaurs to the space and technology era. Movies are shown throughout the day including astronomy and shows for kids. There is also a planetarium.

I came on a Tuesday night when the observatory was open. I also attended a program in the planetarium which was interesting to see the night sky above Columbia. The museum itself is larger than I thought with a wide variety of interesting exhibits. You could probably spend 6+ hours in here if you wanted to. I will definitely return.

I went to the museum twice recently. I went for the Peddler event & the Wizard of Oz event. A Blacksmith personally made me an old fashioned nail(it was cool). The food was yummy & the quilt exhibit was educational. To be honest, my husband & I did not go into the Oz event because it seemed geared towards the... More

The museum is housed in a vey lovely well maintained space. It seems a bit sparse to me and more oriented to children and school age visitors. I found the observatory and and collection of telescopes the most interesting and impressive. We were able to look through the huge scope under the dome and view the sun. That made the... More

I came to see the WW1 history display, but was very impressed by the overall museum. The displays themselves where somewhat small with only a few items to show, however, what was there was well done with lots of information. They also did a great job of adding many different interesting artifacts. From civil war memorabilia, to interesting displays of... More
