The South Carolina State museum is a great place to visit, I have been there many times over the years, exhibits do change. The presentation of history and artifacts is amazing. I highly recommend stopping in to visit if you are in Columbia area.

Loved this museum. Big and lots of exhibits. Kids loved the sharks and fossils. Plus there were a lot of exhibits that had interactions that they could do. They loved it.

Well worth spending the better part of a rainy day just strolling through time and remembering times gone by. Great place to bring the young ones to see how hard their fore-fathers worked to make their live better.

We spent half a day looking through all that we could and then still didn't see everything. Also, the ladies at the café were so sweet and recommended the pimiento cheese spread sandwiches and they were amazing!!

This museum is excellent - very good exhibits, easy to view. It was better than we expected. Great representation of South Carolina history and people. Planetarium shows were okay.

It is hard to comment on a museum that covers so many things. First, the museum is built in a former textile mill which explains its meandering layout but also why it was such a good idea to have history housed in history. And right...More

There is a package that we got when went that included the main museums and attractions. I seem to remember that if you wanted to see more than 3 of the offered attractions the package became worthwhile.
