The trail was super long but offered great scenery and was well trafficked. Plan to spend at least two to three hours to complete a trail. The area by the water is best, as it is cooler in the summer heat. I would say the...More

A good choice for evening group rides or just getting in some trail time. Depending on the time of day you could be competing with hikers or runners. I find the summer months too hot for a good ride since the woods offer no wind...More

Harbison state forest is one of the reasons I love my city so much. I regularly run the trails, hike with my dog on leash, and bike there. Highly recommended to all... well worth the yearly car parking pass of $25...

There are numerous trails that are great for biking, running and walking, but they are not paved. Plan to have plenty of time to explore and enjoy. I've been three times and two out of the three taken a path that added some miles. In...More

Harbison State Forest is a slightly hilly pine forest sitting beside the Broad River. As a jogger, I use it quite frequently when I get bored running through neighborhoods and/or paved trails. The trail system in the park is "natural," but well marked and maintained....More

Love hiking here in nature. Cooler in the summer and can really get your heart going if you keep up the pace. Only wish it would open before 9AM

Good trail system. The local SORBA group has really done a great job with keeping up the maintenance. There are loops for beginners Firebreak trail. The more advanced is the Spiderwoman II with a inner loop. The Bluff section overlooks the Broad River and you...More

Two questions -1) is this considered an SC state park, accepts state park pass? 2) Is there a swimming area?

Same answer as James B, it is a State Forest, not a park. Yes there is a parking fee $5.00 for the day. There is also canoe/kayak landing. check out the info on their website.
