The State House has a beautiful garden and great statues outside. The historical bits written on each statue are not exactly objective, but still super neat.

We arrived late so didn't get a chance to go inside this time (been there before). However take the time to walk the grounds and see the beautiful statues as well as all the wonderful trees, plants and flowers. There is a lot to take...More

Toured the Statehouse on Legislation Day with other colleagues. Watched the introductory video in the theater room and it was interesting. Toured the faculty with a great tour guide who was knowledgeable and witty. Learned alot about the architecture, paintings, and history of the building....More

This is a beautiful building with free tours. The grounds are well maintained and have several memorials around. Definitely worth a stop.

If you are visiting or living in Columbia do yourself a favor and go to the Capitol. The complex around it is surrounded by trees and statues and drenched in History. The building still has marks on it from cannon ball fire from the Civil...More

The State house should be of great interest to kids but ONLY if it is in session. Then it is great to see governing in action and the term lobbying takes on a new meaning when seen live. Make your plans accordingly.
