The State House i located downtown Columbia and surrounded by a well maintained park. If you are interested in history, especially the civil war, this is definitely a must see.

It was a nice evening to walk around after eating dinner. We walk the paths taking time to view every piece throughout the grounds. Very well kept.

It was a very interesting experience because I was being recognize. I have been there on other visits to be aware of what is going on with our legislators. It is something that all students should experience.

The State house should be of great interest to kids but ONLY if it is in session. Then it is great to see governing in action and the term lobbying takes on a new meaning when seen live. Make your plans accordingly.
