This is a nice place for a stroll for the whole family and the dog/s. Not only is it good for exercise, you learn a little history too! Plenty of benches to rest, and plenty of green space to just chill. They also have an exercise area, so you can do some extra exercising after your run or walk. Proximity... More

The park was very clean and walking paths were very well marked. It was a nice place to walk in the afternoon and enjoy the outdoors.

What a neat experience!! We have traveled to Columbia many times, as our son attends USC, and we didn't even know this beautiful treasure was here! Thanks to Trip Advisor - we discovered it and we will now go back every time we are in Columbia! The walk is beautiful - rivers, trees, flowers! Also, the area is recognized as... More

This canal is adjacent to downtown area. Perfect place to bike, jog, or walk. Plenty of benches along trail so you can stop to rest. Mile markers at every 1/4 mile. Work began in early 1800's and workers were mostly Irish Americans who were basically in servitude. Many changes to walkway over the years. Major flood in 2015 caused canal... More

As a family we took a trip down to the Riverwalk on a Sunday evening...it was a beautiful experience. Many activities going on fishing, bike riding, runners, children in playground, a few photo shoots, saw picnic by the river as well as many, many people walking the 2.5 mile trail. Area very well maintained, felt like a very safe place... More

We were on a 7 hours drive and decided to make a stop in Columbia to stretch our legs. Google helped us find this great place. We walked, sat on a bench, read many of the very informative and interesting plaques, and even tried the fitness station!

This is a great little walking path right on the river. It's free, paved, dog friendly, has bathrooms, it's lighted at night. It's about 2.5 miles from end to end. I go several times a month, it's a fantastic spot for exercise and nature.

This park is a beautiful and great place for a stroll or run. They even have an area at the beginning of the park where people can work out using free equipment. There are historical markers and lots of wildlife to see as well. We were hoping to see Eagles but we did see cranes, turtles and lizards. When we... More

First "ran" across this park in a half marathon last year. Had the chance to walk back along the water with my wife a few weeks ago. Initial view (of the water treatment plant) isn't anything amazing but once you get to the canal the view is nice, the path is paved and you can walk a couple of miles... More

I took a Ranger guided tour and was amazed at the history surrounding this incredible place. I definitely recommend researching when the city Park Rangers are hosting another tour and attend.
