The snakes, titled, alligators, were all great to see. The handlers were very informative and personal. Enjoyed the snake show, especially Blake with Hank😂. Great place for kids and adults to go and enjoy these species.

This was way more fun than I expected! My teen really wanted to go & I had my doubts, but the snake presentation by one of the keepers and the alligator feeding talk really made this visit an absolute blast!

We live on a farm and have traveled to see many snakes, alligators, and just nature's creatures. While visiting Edisto on a week vacation, my family chose to go to The Serpentarium. We have seen them in Atlanta, Miami, and here in North Carolina, and this place was clean and even smelled good. I'm sure the blooming Jasmines, oh how sweet!! Helped a lot. The show was very informative, and the young man was genuinely knowledgeable and interested in presenting info on these magnificent creatures. The animals appear healthy, their areas clean and well fed. It was a great visit. Hope more families visit most likely to enjoy.

It is a family destination, but we as two women enjoyed it. Gators are impressive. Turtles were active and cute. Nice facility. We did not get to see the gators eat b/c of the time of year. It it well maintained and clean.

This was a treasure of exploring and learning. Our group of 8 adults and 2 children learned so much about the snakes and alligators. We watched 4 shows, and the presenters had the audiences in their hands with stories and science. They were great with kids and with scientists. Excellent day. We were there 3 1/2 hours.

We had been to Edisto three times before, but this was our first time at the Serpentarium. It was very cool! There are many alligators, snakes, turtles, and other reptiles to see. You can watch the alligators being fed at certain times of the day. I definitely recommend a visit if you go to Edisto.

We’ve been here time and time again, we never miss it each year during our Edisto visit. It is such a unique experience with so many reptiles. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable, and the animals seem very well taken care of. Many of the same alligators are still there from our first visit years ago.
They have shows and unique interactive experiences. It may only take a couple of hours even if you did all the shows, so plenty of time to explore the island the rest of your day.

This place is absolutely epic. Our family was blown away by one of the coolest animal places/exhibits we have ever seen. While this place is not huge, it makes up for that in some very large exhibits where you get to see snakes, turtles, and gators roam. Our daughter’s favorite area was the turtles, where we probably spent almost 40 minutes watching them swim, burrow, eat, etc. The outdoor snake exhibits are extremely entertaining. We had fun counting the snakes and seeing all of the different places they could hide or go. The only thing we were not overly impressed with was the gift shop, which didn’t have a ton of variety and was a little overpriced. Overall, excellent visit!

This is the common question I heard at the Serpentarium on a hot day, when the critters are sleepy and still. The turtles were fun to watch, as was the entertaining snake show. The gators are huge and impressive, but they didn’t set any speed records on the morning we visited. Having visited Gator World in Orlando, I found the bull gators less active and the gator feeding less exciting than at the place in Orlando. Also, the natural jungle setting made it kind of tricky to get a good view of the gator feeding unless you get to the pond early and stand right at the feeding tower. Still, the lectures were interesting and informative. Some of the indoor exhibits took a little time to find the critter in its enclosure, and again, I wondered if they were alive or stuffed. There was a small snack bar, but it was closed for renovation and you could purchase chips and drinks in the gift shop, which was sort of small. (That is, smaller than the one at a typical Cracker Barrel.) Still, I’d pay a visit to the Serpentarium. While showing its age a bit, it is still photogenic, educational, and interesting for all ages.
