We took this tour last year about this time in April and are here again and going to signup soon while we're in Myrtle Beach. It was so relaxing ,and fun to find shells. Lots of good information about the area, too. Can't wait to go again in a week or so in April 2017.!!

Cap'n Rod, Miss Jane and Cap'n Dave were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The boat was clean and comfortable, with a bathroom onboard. The benches are metal, so I would bring a towel to sit on. The island they take you to is nice, but we didn't see any interesting shells; mostly oyster shells and those you find... More

We took Cap'n Rod's Shell Island Tour and really enjoyed it. The tour was informative and we learned a lot of historical facts about the area. We found some amazing sea shells. Definitely would take this tour again.

We took the lighthouse and shell tour with Cap'n Rod. He had us laughing, asking questions and enjoying the time on his boat. I had questions prior to booking and Ms. Fran answered fully and quickly. A competitor's boat went out and back before us and only got to see the lighthouse but no history. They had less time on... More

We learned a lot about the history of Georgetown and SC. The only thing negative were suppose to be back to the dock at 7:00pm and didn't get back until 7:40pm. Captain Ron was very knowledgeable and showed us points of interest along the way

I signed up for this tour because I love combing the beach for shells and got that plus a whole lot more! The boat ride out to North Island and back was quite interesting thanks to knowledgeable Captain Doug! He knows so much history of the area and pointed out many sites of interest along the way. The island itself... More

While visiting Myrtle Beach for a week we desired something off the beaten path and out in nature where we thrive. Captain Rods boat tour came highly recommended. Captain Doug & Ken were very hospitable, the boat was pristine & safe and the ride was smooth and enjoyable. Captain Doug was very knowledgeable about the area sharing the history &... More

This is our 2nd boat ride with Capt Rod. Capt Rod was very entertaining and shared many enjoyable stories as we headed to the Shelling Island. His extensive knowledge of the history of Georgetown and the surrounding areas was amazing. The boat was very clean and comfortable. The island was so beautiful. There are many things you can do on... More

When arriving don't rely on GPS, use the navigation provided by Cap'n Rod's. Captain Rod and Miss Fran were both wonderful. The narrative given during the ride is very informative and well delivered............Cap'n Rod is a real "salt of the earth" kind of guy. Our time on the beach, one and one/half hours was ample time to stroll and collect... More

Capt. Rod's love of this area is evident and he is very knowledgeable about the history and evolution of the special part of South Carolina. We saw lots of bald eagles and wildlife. Folks of any age would enjoy this excursion.
