A sanitised view of rice cultivation. This museum focuses upon the economic virtues of rice for a privileged class. The slave labor that built the system is barely acknowledged. The subject has great potential, the museum fails.

Zenobia was knowledgeable and entertaining as a guide. Enjoyed our time with her, and loved the museum. The gift shop downstairs has some beautiful items as well.

When in Georgetown, you must stop by, take an hour or so, and see this museum. We learned so much about the area and the rice plantations of South Carolina. There are plenty of artifacts in the museum and a few surprising ones too.
