This small museum gives an interesting snippet of life in Upcountry South Carolina. See video about Greenville's story of ambition by an award winning production company. My take of the theme of this museum is the transition from crisis to resolution of problems starting with feuding of Native American tribes, differences between countrymen during the American Revolution, Civil War, race... What a fun and educational experience! The museum is full, interesting, and diverse! Staff is helpful and knowledgeable! We had fun with the hands on exhibits and we are over fifty!

A visit to the Upcountry History Museum gives a great lesson in the history of Upstate South Carolina. You can see the entirety of the museum in about 2 hours. I left with a much stronger understanding of the area's history and heritage. Really enjoyed my visit and would recommend to anyone interested in history.

We really were not all impressed with this place, especially for the money. Half of the lighting was out when we visited, too many steps for my elderly aunt, most of the hands on attractions were not working. Don't think we will visit again.

The Upcountry History Museum is a great way to learn about the local area through history. Located in the same little area (Discovery Green) as the Children's Museum, Theatre and the Art Museum it makes it easy to venture through a couple museums. The staff was very welcoming and informative.

This is an interesting place with lots of information on Greenville and the Upcountry. Your tour starts with a film on the south and focuses on people who helped found both the Upcountry and Greenville itself. As you walk through the museum you can see and hear stories about the founders and what they went through trying to settle this... More

If you take your time this interesting museum could take 2 or more hours to enjoy. Most of the audio-visual effects worked and many automatically start if you linger around it!

The Upcountry History Museum was a nice museum to spend some time in the air conditioning and explore. I thought it'd be a little larger but its scope was limited. You do get some background on the history of South Carolina. I did really enjoy the exhibit on all of the political ads throughout the years.
