Our week's vacation in Hilton Head included playing six golf courses. Heron Point was an okay course, but overpriced. Also, be forewarned to clear your own cart before the assistant takes it away. We lost a rangefinder, which never showed up in lost & found. Staff wasn't concerned about our loss. This made it an extremely expensive golf experience!

Having previously played Pete Dye courses we were expecting a more difficult course. As mentioned by others, the multiple tee offs give everyone a chance to have a good time. We were welcomed by cheerful staff, practiced with free range balls and enjoyed fairways, greens and traps that were in good condition. The drive through bunkers that we were told... More

On a week's vacation in Hilton Head, we played 4 golf courses; Oyster Reef in Hilton Head plantation, the Robert Trent Jones course at Palmetto Dunes, the Arthur Hills course at Palmetto Dunes, and Heron Point at Sea Pines plantation. Our view was that Heron Point was a very nice layout but significantly overpriced relative to other courses on the... More

Heron Point golf course in Sea Pines is designed with the fun of golf in mind. With numerous tee placements, you can play a round of golf that is so enjoyable. We hit from the "Palmetto Tees" which shortened the course drastically and was both challenging and FUN! I can't hit the ball as long as I used to and... More

We played this beautiful course on a warm day in February. The course has recently been redesigned and is in great shape, especially considering the time of year. The course is interesting and challenging. We finished our first round in about 4 hours. We enjoyed it so much we scheduled another time for the next day. Friendly, knowledgeable staff is... More

Course is much more user friendly after last year's redesign. Nice landing areas from the tees. Design requires golfers to navigate the course, with doglegs and a variety of distances, so it's not just 'grip it and rip' it all day. Considering we played in January, course was in fine shape...greens were very nice.

Heron Point is a great course which will definitely challenge you. When they 1st reopened after redoing all of the greens, it was very tough as the greens were like putting on a hardwood floor. However, now that they've grown in a little more they play really well while still offering up a challenge.

The wife and I enjoyed both rounds that we played here. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions and everyone has a different experience, I do feel that those saying "this is nothing special" are being a tad harsh... We've played several of Pete Dye's courses and while some are tougher and more "famous" than this one, I think... More

The staff were very friendly here. We booked a tee time on a Monday morning off season. The course itself is beautiful with some very interesting bunkers. Since we were playing on a off season Monday, there were a lot of landscaping workers that were in and out in between our holes in their trucks. I found that to be... More

Just finished a round at Heron Point. It's a very nice course. In my opinion it's harder that Harbour Town which I played last year. It's relatively tight but not so bad that you can't manage. However there is never a flat lie. Not in the fairway. Not on a green. Not anywhere. This makes for a challenging round. Course... More
