We visited Hilton head with the family and really enjoyed the location right there in Harbour Town. If you want a good view, pay the couple of bucks and start marching up the stairs. Enjoyed seeing the course I played earlier in the day.

Its a nice small lighthouse. The views are nice. There are some shops around the marina. However, be prepared to pay to get into Sea Pines ($6) and that's just to get to the lighthouse. Then you'll have to pay again to access the lighthouse....More

I might be biased as I just love lighthouses, but it really is such a significant building in the area. The museum inside really is worth checking out. Also, there is a little shop at the bottom and one on the top with really cool...More

I would give yourself about an hour give or take a little, depending on how long you want to spend reading the information along the way and taking photos and enjoying the view on the top of the Lighthouse.
