Nice fun little off-the-beaten-path stop. Not many frills here. If you like old cemeteries, or revolutionary war and civil war history, it's a nice stop. The place is not really well maintained, but it was still cool. We spent about twenty minutes just kind of...More

We did the Halloween night time your and even got to view the inside of the Mausoleum. Went back the next day to see everything in daylight. Amazing the majority of graves are revolutionary war era, not civil war.

This cemetery has been here for years and years. I think the interesting part is the number of young children that died so early. Makes one think about how difficult life was then.

Several soldiers buried here from the Revolution. Graves are spread out with some toppled over and some difficult to read. Make sure to be on Matthews headed south and pull in off of the tiny short cut through to 277 West.

many of the names etched into the gravestones were worn away by time. Some of the descendants obviously cared enough to preserve the written memory by having a new grave marker made. They even present a historical talk about the island and its inhabitants at...More

This is a very small cemetery loaded with old historical headstones. Our daughter took some photos during our stop here and two ghostly images showed up among her pictures. We were all amazed.

This site is a bit small. There are some interesting historical graves and one can see how Hilton Head was just a small community in the early days of the US.

Just a quick stop. Wonderful old cemetery with very old headstones. Mausoleum was locked up and no one here but they do have someone available one day a week. Very sacred ground and being maintained. Worth a stop just to read headstones.

This is a small site that, although it appears that there have been small efforts to keep it maintained, needs a little more work. For history buffs this is a must-see stop. For the average family it doesn't offer much. (Good thing I love historic...More
